General DNW
AUs unless requested • No BIG canon divergencies unless requested. • Crack fic. • Focus on pregnancy or childbirth. • Focus on, or mentions of, gender dysphoria. • Character bashing. I am happy with characters disagreeing passionately and having negative opinions of other characters, but don't make them into your mouthpiece. Also don't make fun of or belittle characters, especially those of the requested ships. • Focus on scat, piss, vomit. I'm fine with mentions of unsanitary things, but no focus on it; as in, nothing that is deliberately trying to squick the reader out or is kinking on these fluids. Things I like!
I'm happiest when stories get into some in-depth character exploration. The plot of your story may be minimal, it may be slice of life, small missing moments, I tend to not care as much as long as characterisation and interactions between people offer emotional depth. For smut, the same thing applies: hot action is good, but I like it better when there's something that happens, in an emotional sense, to the characters involved. This doesn't have to be romantic love by any means, I very much enjoy friends with benefits and the like.
I like banters between characters, historical attention to details, politics, clashing point of views, complicated relationships, UST, bittersweet endings where not all things are solved neatly, hope for the future, moral ambiguity, explored dysfunctionality, love shown through subtlety, love that is not confessed, regret, hard-won redemptions and the distrust that comes with it, power dynamics, characters that won't ever relent in their goals. I like the consensual but not safe or sane, emotional manipulation, loyalty and betrayal themes, rivalries, even those that aren't entirely solved, and especially those that take a long journey to come to an understanding. For any less wholesome ships, I am totally fine if they don't live happily ever after.
Combining requests: go for it! Do you want to write Vivienne & Briala and mix it up with Celene/Briala? Totally fine. Do you want to throw in a future Briala & Shianni? Great idea. You never have to combine, but if you wonder whether I would like it or not, i definitely do, so this is your free pass to mix and match.
OCs and adding characters: I love some OCs and to see the world populated. If you're writing Male Lavellan & Female Lavellan and think it'd be great to throw in other people from the clan, or Deshanna, that sounds great in my book. Usually I just care that the nominated relationship takes centre stage, but the more the merrier. I only ask not to put emphasis on unrequested PC romances.
Preferences and state of the world: The only thing I don't want to read is in my DNW and it's about removing Anora from the throne of Ferelden. I prefer Red Hawke/Merrill and I prefer the female Lavellan to be a mage (usually the first) with the male Lavellan being a warrior (usually something like master of the hunt), but these are only guidelines. I'm purposely not adding notes on the PCs, since I find it personally really difficult to fulfill someone else's expectations with OCs and always go with my version of things; so feel entitled to exercise the same freedom. I have a playthrough for almost every possible iteration of the worldstate, chances are that I have at least a game where your canon matches with mine.
Prompts
Solo: Flavius, Flavius & Archon Radonis, Solo: Gaius, Fenris & Orana, Solo: Varania, Fenris & Varania
The Tevinter batch. These are all characters that in some manner relate to Tevinter or live there. For Flavius, I would love to see how he navigates being the Archon's slave; his pride and disdain as shown against Tessa is very interesting, and so is his ability to play a part, the freedom of movement he's granted to even leave the Imperium and act on Radonis' behalf outside of it. Is he in charge of other people in the palace? How does he conceptualise his position, his loyalty, and the protection it grants him, does he think he's better than other elves and slaves? Is it a survival mechanism? Feel free to delve into these themes.
Conversely, Gaius has taken on the fake identity of a Magister to act on behalf of the agents of Fen'Harel. How was he recruited, what is his past, his education and role before he takes on that task? We see so little of him before he dies, but he is very interesting. How does he abandon an allegiance for another, does he discover pride, is he good at being deceitful? Was his position something like Flavius'?
The Fenris, Orana, and Varania requests all deal with the life of these characters and their trauma under House Danarius. I'm equally interested in their life in Tevinter and in their life after. Orana and Fenris talk in Hawke's house? The three of them navigate a party back in Tevinter? Does Fenris ever see Varania again when he goes back to hunt down the members of House Danarius? How is her life as a tailor and as a Liberati elf? If Fenris kills her, how does he deal with it afterwards?
Zathrian & Lanaya, Solo: Zathrian, Zathrian/Lady of the Forest
The Zathrian batch. A really fascinating character to me, a grieving father attached to his vengeance, unable to let go of it even when it's hurting his own people. Also, the closest thing to an immortal modern elf! I would love to see him impart his teachings to Lanaya, who however seems to be of a different leaning. Their relationship is super interesting given their differences and Lanaya's doubts. I also would love to see him interact with other clans at an Arlathven, and see how they respond to his maintained youth. As for the ship with the Lady... uh, I saw it and thought it was cool. Surprise me. For this ship dub-con is okay (but not expected), though no knotting or focus on animal genitalia if going the werewolf route.
Briala/Celene Valmont, Briala & Shianni, Avexis & Cassandra Pentaghast, Briala & Vivienne, Male Lavellan & Male Marquis of Serault, Michel de Chevin/Male Lavellan
The Orlais batch. I would like to see a Bann Shianni interact with Marquise Briala, in a worldstate where they have that position. They're the only elves to have nobility titles, if you exclude any elf Warden bann of Amaranthine, and they are from countries with a history of enmity. It must be a very layered interaction. Likewise the really unhealthy relationship with Celene is so full of intrigue and betrayed sentiments, feel free to play with it as you like, and Briala interacting with Vivienne properly at court, either before or after the civil war and WE&WH would be full of political tension and very juicy.
Avexis & Cassandra is more on the lines of "this poor girl, jesus", but I would love to see how they interact past the one brief appearance of Avexis at Haven. Is the option of bringing Avexis back from tranquility ever considered? How does Cassandra deal with her presence? Does Avexis go to Skyhold?
As for the Marquis and Lavellan, the war table quest where the Marquis is saved from the forest is very intriguing. It would be cool if the Marquis finally visited Skyhold or if Lavellan went to Serault to close rifts there, maybe between Inquisition and Trespasser. Or maybe Lavellan participated in the rescue mission directly? They are essentially both OCs, so go wild with how they interact and what themes they touch!
And woof wouldn't it be cool to see how Lavellan can get into some kind of relationship with a secret half elf who refuses to acknowledge or honour his elven side so adamantly, and has instead embraced the culture of the Chevaliers so strongly and openly. Does Lavellan ever discover the truth? If so, from whom? Does he tell Michel? How does Michel grapple with an elven Inquisitor? Do they bond over martial tactics? Full of possibilities.
Anora Mac Tir & Shianni, Anora Mac Tir/Female Surana
The Fereldan/Anora batch I guess lol. I would love to see how Shianni interacts with Anora as queen and bann, how she negotiates the alienage's conditions, how she builds political strength. Any worldstate is fine but Anora needs to be on the throne. I also would enjoy to see a Surana who becomes some kind of "mage advisor" to Anora, before/during/after the events of Awakening, I'd like to see explored how Surana takes up a space in the Fereldan court. A saved/Warden Loghain would be preferable for this version, but do as you please. I'm always happy to see extended relationships alongside the main one.
Solo: Male Lavellan, Male Lavellan & Female Lavellan, Ameridan & Kordillus Drakon I, Ameridan/Telana, Abelas & Cillian, Abelas/Cillian
The Inquisition batch. I'd be curious to see interactions between two Lavellan clan members; usually I default to the fem!lavellan being the Inquisitor in that case, obviously it doesn't apply to the solo male!lavellan request. Would either of them ask the other to join them in Skyhold or Haven? Maybe the clan quest series went badly and either of them is the sole survivor? Feel free to put in other clan members like Deshanna.
I'm also always really interested in Ameridan and his relationships. He was friends with Drakon, how did that look like? How was his love with Telana? A lot of room to explore, so feel free to go wild.
Cillian's story is just uniquely suited for a meeting with Abelas. It would be great if they could meet after Abelas has disappeared from Mythal's temple, and see how Abelas interacts with him given his "you're not my people" spiel. Would he ever teach Cillian, or see what Cillian has accomplished on his own in the way of arcane warriors? Would Abelas reveal who he is, or Cillian understand that something is up? How does it feel for him to meet an actual ancient elf? A lot of room for cool conversations, and I'm interested both in a platonic and in a less platonic take on this.
Arianni & Feynriel, Feynriel & Merrill, Female Hawke/Merrill
The Feynriel & Merrill batch. I'm eating my hands that I forgot to nominate Feynriel & Solas so please consider that an additional snuck-in request (they're both Somniari after all...). Feynriel is a super interesting character as a Somniari and I would love to see how his mother and he navigate life in the alienage in Kirkwall, how Arianni lives her story with Feynriel's father and then how she navigates through this new (fairly traumatic) life in Kirkwall. Likewise, seeing Merrill interact with him (and Arianni, why not) in the alienage or in the clan, if he's brought there, whenever she visits him again would be cool. He is a very liminal character because of what he embodies and these relationships look very juicy to me.
As for Hawke/Merrill, I have a preference for mage-aligned Red Hawke, especially a mage herself, but don't feel compelled to follow that direction. I would love to see how Merrill and Hawke bond, maybe over discovering things? Magic? Does Hawke get angry on her behalf? I'm a little partial to the hc that Merrill is toppy in bed, if you'd like to incorporate it. Or maybe you can go over Merrill's personal quests (especially the very traumatic last one)? A lot to explore here.
Zevran Arainai/Male Aeducan, Myrion/Strife, Andarateia Cantori/Viago De Riva, Sketch/Tug
The other ships batch. All of these caught my eye in some way. I'm always a sucker for elf/dwarf things, but I'm also very interested in opposites attract, which applies to almost all of these, though obviously the Aeducan one depends on interpretation. Long story short I'm in love with all these minor ships and interactions, I will adore anything involving them.
