Hello writer, thanks for creating for me! I'll list down here my general DNWs, my Silm-specific ones, my likes, and anything else I'd like considered under the specific requests.

Do Not Wants
  • AUs unless requested, as I'd rather read about the original fandoms.
  • No BIG canon divergencies unless requested, though I'm okay with "pick your canon" unless I state a specific preference.
  • Crack fic.
  • Focus on pregnancy or childbirth.
  • Focus on, or mentions of, gender dysphoria.
  • Character bashing. I am happy with characters disagreeing passionately and having negative opinions on other characters, but if it becomes obvious to me that you're using the characters as mouthpieces for your opinions, then the fun is sucked away from the story. More on this below.
  • Focus on scat, piss, vomit. I'm fine with mentions of unsanitary things, but no focus on it; as in, nothing that is deliberately trying to squick the reader out or is kinking on these fluids. (Blood is perfectly fine.)
  • Second person pov. (Present and past tense, first or third person are all okay.)
  • Issuefic. With this I mean that I'm not looking for a work that takes problems in canon and focuses its attention on explaining and educating me on why all that is morally wrong and we should do better. If canon presents unresolved issues, I'm happy with reading about their consequences and effects on characters, about how you make sense of them. The point is, no "educational fiction".
  • Specular to the above, no writing out of canon-compliant various -isms or phobias. If a world or time period is homophobic, I don't want the struggles of characters that have to live with it written away by washing out all social problems. However, if such things are not present in a given world, don't add them in for the sake of it.
  • A/B/O, genderswap, alien genitalia, m!preg.
  • Maggots, terminal illnesses, feederism and eating disorders, soulmates.
  • Daddy/mommy kink, de-aging of characters, ageplay and infantilisation, diapers, pet play, enemas and urethral plays, insistence on how large a penis or breasts are, objectification.
  • Medical play or assorted medical kinks and situations, consensual or not.
  • Underage and non-con (dub-con is fine but only if requested).
  • Any variation of the word "come" spelled as "cum". Just use "come".

Likes

I'm happiest when stories get into some in-depth character exploration. The plot of your story may be minimal, it may be slice of life, small missing moments, I tend to not care as much as long as characterisation and interactions between people offer emotional depth. If you plan to write smut, the same thing applies: hot action is good, but I like it better when there's something that happens, in an emotional sense, to the characters involved. In short, depth.

I like banters between characters, historical attention to details, politics, clashing point of views, complicated relationships, UST, bittersweet endings where not all things are solved neatly, hope for the future, moral ambiguity, explored dysfunctionality, love shown through subtlety, love that is not confessed, regret, hard-won redemptions and the distrust that comes with it, power dynamics, characters that won't ever relent.

Fandom Specifics

I am a Feanor/Feanorian fan. I don't want a narcissistic or cruel father interpretation. My requests include characters that may not look kindly upon Feanor or his sons and faction, and I am okay with that, however do not use this or them as an excuse to bash on my favourite characters. I can tell if you're using them to be your own mouthpiece, instead of them expressing their own opinions. Don't do this, I don't want to read it. Character opinions used as a mask for the author's opinions is a big turn off, and if you find yourself writing for me but really don't like Feanor and his faction just steer clear of them or mentions of them in your story.

Building on the previous point, please don't use your work to bash groups out of personal dislike. Try to afford every character and group the same sort of understanding for their psychology. If you can't, just don't include those groups in the story.

Writing about or using LaCE.
I'd rather you didn't treat it as a biological imperative. For example, if you imply Maedhros/Fingon or any other ship, don't write it as them now being married and soulbound because they did the do. Treat the text as something with dubious authorship (I'll direct you to this essay if you don't know what I mean) and as a collection of what the title says: laws and customs, valid among the Eldar and the Noldor/Vanyar primarily, but not rules on how their bodies and souls literally work. I would also rather you didn't brush LaCE off as something that doesn't exist, instead bend it to your needs.

Various canon preferences. Amrod doesn't die at Losgar, both twins die at Sirion. Orodreth is son of Angrod. Gil-Galad is son of Orodreth or Fingon, however I don't mind if people come up with other theories, don't mention it, or just play on the ambiguity. Nerdanel rejoins Mahtan in the Halls of Aule after her family leaves Valinor. The children of Finwe and Indis are: Findis, Fingolfin, Lalwen, Finarfin, in that order. All the sons of Feanor are well into adulthood when they swear the oath and leave Valinor, this definitely includes the twins. Any mention of Miriel's full name is written as Therinde unless it's a character speaking and mispronouncing it as Serinde. No headcanons on Caranthir doing embroidery or being greedy. If that weird asking three times for hair strands from Galadriel thing gets no mention whatsoever I'll be very happy.

Ships/shipping. I'm okay with all canon relationships appearing in the background, intending canon as things explicitly in the text (e.g. Finwe/Miriel, Finwe/Indis, Finarfin/Earwen etc etc). Other ships with which I'm okay as background or implied as existing as if they were canon are: Maedhros/Fingon, Caranthir/Haleth, Beleg/Turin (unlikely it will show up given my requests but hey), Curufin/Finrod, Finwe/Thingol, Celegorm/Aredhel. Textual ghost ships are all okay, intending with textual ghost things such as Curufin/Curufin's wife, Angrod/Angrod's wife and the like. Essentially, if a baby popped up, I consider the textual ghost ship as canon. I don't mind if minor non-canon ships are cited, like for example you want to give Findis a dalliance of sorts, or eventually a husband, I'm okay with it, just don't make it the main ship or focus if my request was about something else.

My only ship DNWs are the following: Aredhel/Elenwe, Nerdanel/Indis, any sort of Feanorian incest (the brothers among themselves or, god forbid, with their parents), Glorfindel/Ecthelion, Celegorm/Finrod, Caranthir/anyone from the house of Finarfin, Melkor/Sauron. Please don't write Feanor/Fingolfin as a romantically incestuous ship or any other incest among siblings either unless I request it. Beren/Luthien is canon but is still a DNW beyond necessary mentions due to story reasons.

Tolkien's morality is something I don't particularly care to read about or fully stick to (if at all). Please don't try to tell me that the Valar are all-benevolent (but remember my stance on bashing POVs and characters). On the other hand, not a big fan of Melkor did nothing wrong either. This falls into my "no issuefics" DNW.

PROMPTS

Feanorian Host / OCs request

This entire prompt exists for you to create OCs from the Feanorian host during the Beleriand period or the Darkening. Take all these textual ghosts, make something out of them, build them as people, make them interact with their lords or other people's of Beleriand. Who handled trade with the dwarves, together with "Caranthir"? Where were these people during the War of Wrath, and what were they doing, those who remained loyal and those who deserted at Sirion? How did the people who stuck with Amrod and Amras interact with the Green Elves? How did your average Noldo live through the First Age, and further, how did a warrior, an artisan, a farmer? How was their fealty tested, in situations like Celegorm&Curufin leaving Nargothrond with only their most loyal, or how was it at Sirion, how was it at Losgar when Maedhros stood aside, how strong was the link between Feanor and those who died with him during his last stand, etc etc? How did they bury their dead, if at all? How were they talked about in historiography or song, how did they administer and live in their fortresses? I just want to read about these people.

Elemmírë (& Feanor) request

Who is Elemmire? We only know that they're a Vanya who wrote a lament for the Darkening. Are they a man, a woman, or another gender yet (or lack thereof)? We know that Vanyarin Quenya as a language is a lot more conservative than Noldorin Quenya (more than the Shibboleth version too), so how did this elf interact with the University of Lambengolmor, of masters of language? Did they and Feanor ever interact together? Please make them chat! How did they take the Darkening, were they involved in teaching poetry or music? Just, go wild with the creation and building of this character.

LotR requests

This set requests (possibly separately lol) the Witch King of Angmar and Glorfindel, as well as Legolas/Gimli (&Gloin / &Thranduil).

For the Witch King and Glorfindel, the reference tags are the first ones: regret and redemption, Arnor and succssor kingdoms, war with Angmar, potentially healing. I specifically include regret and redemption because for this request pair I'm including a requested AU (so don't mind my no AUs dnw for this), in which Angmar somehow survives. Is he a restless spirit? Does he cling to whatever power Sauron still has lingering as detailed in the afterwards scrapped LotR sequel from HoME? Either way, I would like to see him come to terms with what he is, what he did, and how his spirit was seduced, corrupted, and enslaved. If he interacts with his old enemy during this, all the better. The other tags are, of course, if you wanna instead write about canon.

For Legolas/Gimli, healing, Ithilien, and preparing to sail are the prompts, but honestly write whatever you want with them. Just try to stick as much as possible to the original book characterisation rather than the movie versions (Legolas is considerably more lighthearted and even funny in the books, while Gimli is graver and eloquent. While I won't go after anyone for giving the characters their own spin, comic relief Gimli is a huge DNW). The &Gloin / &Thranduil relationship requests should give additional ideas for interactions and conflict. A note for this: please don't make them excessively homophobic or opposing the relationship primarily or even solely because of their gender. While I don't mind if you decide to confront whatever biases they might have, or include any amount of perplexity or other issues, I don't want this fic to concentrate on "YOU'RE NOT MY SON CUZ YOU'RE DATING A MAN", or "I'm afraid of confronting my father because of this". Just... don't go there.

Finweans request

To be fair this is mostly House of Feanor interacting with others more than Finweans in general, but still, I absolutely don't mind if the rest of the House of Finwe shows up. I don't have any DNWs for characters in the House of Finwe, so though I prefer the pov and all to stay on the characters nominated, I'm totally okay with anyone else showing up too. Note on homophobia among elves tag: LaCE is not positive towards same sex relationships for obvious reasons, so if you want to tackle this from a cultural point of view, go ahead. I don't want to see this turn to violent homophobia however, and definitely don't want to read excessively abusive and homophobic parents. This is valid especially for Feanor, but applies to others too.

You can use these tags or any other tag I mention in my requests as inspiration. Note on Vampire AU: I'd love to see any of these characters and relationships in our world, as vampires (Dracula-like, Anne Rice-like, whichever vampiric lore you want to stick to).

Feanor & other people ( &Maglor, &Maedhros, &Celegorm, &Amrod&Amras, &Fingolfin, &Curufin, &Fingolfin). Obvious this focuses on the relationship between Feanor and his family members, mostly his sons and his favourite half-brother, but you can throw in Finwe, Finarfin, Nerdanel, nephews, etc. Only request please no Galadriel. Pick a relationship, explore it, enjoy yourself with the exploration. I don't have a preference for a timeline.

Solos & other family relationships (Maglor, Maglor&Finrod, Caranthir, Fingolfin&Maedhros, Amrod&Amras, Curufin, Curufin&Celebrimbor, Maglor&Caranthir). I would like to see Fingolfin and Maedhros getting political, be it in Aman or in Beleriand, and overall exploring that very interesting family relationship (as leaders, as relatives, as rivals... feel free to include Fingon) On Maglor, please avoid writing him as mopey, weak, or excessively gentle, not my cup of tea, please do feel free to explore his relationship with another known musician of the family, Finrod, with his brothers, especially Caranthir, be it in Aman or in Beleriand, as they are after all rather close in territory. Already stated in canon preferences, but avoid writing Caranthir as doing embroidery or as greedy, or as constantly angry like it's a meme. Completely free game for Curufin&Celebrimbor, or Curufin on his own. Same for Amrod&Amras, though a prompt I have is trying to explore their relationship as individual identity, and how they deal with their sense of self.

Ships & others (Celegorm/Aredhel, Caranthir/Haleth, Celegorm&Elured&Elurin, Curufin/Curufin's Wife, Maglor/Maglor's Wife, Amrod/Amras/Nellas). Honestly, whatever take you have on Celegorm/Aredhel, I'll take it. They're really tragic and really interesting, and I'm a sucker for them. This ship comes with an AU exception: I'll gladly read an Aredhel lives AU, however you can frame it and build it. Same with Caranthir/Haleth, whatever you have I'll read it, just make sure that these two treat each other with respect; otherwise, I don't care to read it. For Maglor and Curufin and their respective wives, I just want to read your take on them. Who are they? How did they meet? How is their relationship? Celegorm with Elured and Elurin, not gonna lie, I saw it in the tagset and was intrigued; if you have ideas to write about them, I'm all ears, including rebirth. For Amrod/Amras/Nellas, this is an incest exception: I'm willing to read ambiguous interactions between them, but not explicit sex with each other during a threesome situation. I'm absolutely down with a polyship where they are involved with her, but don't interact with each other sexually. You can play with the identity fucked-upness of it
